Pleasant Sunday Afternoon Meeting.
The last meeting of the above Association for the present quarter was held in Shorts Hall yesterday afternoon. In the unavoidable absence of the President (Mr Bowater) the chair was occupied by Mr Downey. The. Rev W. J. Watkin delivered an exceptionally interesting address which was thoroughly appreciated by those present. The awards for the quarter were then handed to the successful members by Mr Watkins, who accompanied each presentation with a few suitable expressions. Cordial votes 'of thanks were then given to the Rev. W. J. Watkins, Messrs Dixon, Low, Hanaby, Carthew, and others, for their kindness in delivering addresses from time to time. The Chairman stated the Star had done much in circulating the work being carried on by this Society, and the warmest thanks of the meeting were accorded to the Proprietors of that paper for the faithful reports of the meetings of the Society. The session then closed. Due notice will be given by advartisement when the next session will commence.
