Arrest of an Absconder

Mr Newton Fairs, well-known as a commercial traveller and afterwards as a stationer at Hawera, was arrested at Auckland on Saturday last. Being a bankrupt whose public examination is unfinished, and having left without giving any notice to the Deputy Official Assignee, a warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was taken iuto custody, (PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION ).
