Colonial Bank
(PFH PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Dunedin, September 12. The Directors of the Colonial Bank in the half yearly report state that the net profits for the half-year, after deducting interest, expenses, management, bad and doubtful debts, amount to £19,212 16s, to which has been added £8423 10s Id brought forward. From this has to be deducted £2201 13s 8d note tax and Land and Income Tax, leaving available £25,034 12s Bd, which the Directors recommend should be applied thus : To the reserve funds (which will stand at £60,000), £5000 ; payment of dividend at the rate of 7 per cent on paid-up capital, £14,000; balance to be carried for* ward, £6134 12s Bd.
