Judge Barton hns forwarded to Wellington a draft Valuation Bill, which he was requested by the Government to prepare, to settle the disputed Native land titles. Tbe Bill has been submitted to the lawyers here, ond a coinmniittee of leading setlers, and was unanimously approved. At a meeting of the legot profession and citizens, presided over by the Mayor, a resolution was carried thanking the Ministry for instructing Judge Barton to frame the measure, and urging it be passed into law this session as it was of vital importance to the district.
