Feilding Small Farm Association
A meeting was held at Short's Hall on Tuesday evening last. It was re> solved that the past business of the old Association be rescinded, as some of the members would not bear the necessary charges for Government survey. It- was then decided to form ft new Association, when 32 members applied for 6000 acres of land in the Waimarino Block, and each member paid a deposit of 10s towards the preliminary expenses. The following were appointed a committee : — Messrs Johnson, Fen wick, Bishop, and Starmes, with Mr Long as chairman, Mr Bowater, secretary, and Mr Bleakley, treasurer. Mr Bowater was appointed to proceed with a surveyor, inspect the land and report to a future meeting to be called on his return. . . The list of members was then closed, and no further applications will be received until it has been ascertained what extent of suitable land is available for further settlement. The business concluded by the customary vote of thanks to the chairman for presiding. • . ■'.- .'
