* At a fall meeting held on Saturday night, Mr Stevens in the chair, sejeral, necessary improvements were decided tin-. A Sunlight oil lamp was approved and: purchased for the Treading room. The secretary, librarian, and ohairman.were appointed a committee, to arrange all rofumes, riiriding then* alphabetically according to the names of the. authors,, and to write a fresh catalogue. In reply" to an application to carry on the library and readiDg room in other premises at a lower cost, it was resolved that it is not expedient to make any change at present. It was decided to notify Ihe' public that dogs will on no account be admitted, and that smoking is strictly prohibited in the reading room and library. The librarian reported the addi» tion of 132 new books during the term of the present committee. Twelve names were selected to be submitted to the council for the ensuing year. A 'proposal to exchange books with the Birmingham library was brought forward and deferred until next meeting. The names of eeTerai new subscribers were handed in. '...'..''.' V "'
