JUNIOR CUP. The Feilding team failed to show to advantage in their match against the Pirates at Paltnerston on Saturday last, and suffered a decisive defeat by 19 points to nil. North, Stinson, Rickards, Eyton, , Evans, and McMillan, played well for the local men. The Feilding forwards displayed none of their old dash, amongst the backs Bichards showed to advantage. The Kaiwakas failed to put in an appearance at Palmers ton against the Kea Kahas, consequently the latter team had only to score a try, and the match was awarded to them. At Awahnri, Hunterville defeated Awahuri by 9 points to 5. Bulls register a win against Palmerston 11, as the latter club has withdrawn from the contest. The Feilding team will not have to take the field on Saturday, Palmerston II having retired from the contest.

Waverly defeated Wanganui in the Wanganui Senior Gup Competition by 10 points to 2.

Kugby Union, nominations of 30 men for a team for Australia. Auckland, Hawkes Bay, and Maryborough's nominations will reach here on Friday night. It is expected there will be a total of 40, and that the capabilities of players nominated will render the work of the committee one of great difficulty, A majority of the men intimate their ability to obtain the necessary leave. ,
