Creamery at Colyton
♦ The meeting called by Mr W. Gr. Pearce, at Colyton, on Saturday night, was well attended, upwards ot forty per sons being present. Mr Pearce occupied the chair. Correspondence with the secretary of the Cheltenham Co-operative Dairy Company was read, stating the conditions on which the Colyton Creamery would be erected viz : 250 cows, and 250 shares, subscribed by the milk suppliers of Coly» ton. After some discussion, Mr O. Bevineton Jones promised 45 cows for himself, and 15 for Mr Wratt, others then foU lowed until the total number of cows promised reached 235. The subject of a site was discussed, and as the opinions as to the best position were equally dfvided, it was arranged that the ultimate decision be left to the consideration of the Directors. It was however understood the site, was to be nt a point between Mr Smith's Colyton Store, and the junction of the Spur road. It was then resolved that Messrs W. G. Pearce. and G. Bevlngton Jones, be appointed to canvass the neighbourhood, to secure the full complement of cows, and to report at a meeting to be held on Saturday next. In the course of the evening there was a meeting of the settlers held to con* sider the names of two gentlemen to be reeoraraended to the Minister of Justice, to be appointed to the Commission of the Peace. After some debate a ballot was taken, and Messrs A. Conway and E. Smith were chosen.
