(FEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.) .London, May 8. The opening match of the tour of the Australian Cricketers began to-day at Sheffield Park. Bannerman, Walley, Griffin, and Jarvies, stood out of the Australian team. The Englishmen went fir9t to the wickets, and at the luncheon adjournment had lost one wicket for 116 runs. The scores being : Grace, caught ; Tremble bowled ; Coninghan 63. Shrewsbury, not out, 86 ; Gunn, not out, 13, extras 4. Grace's scores included fourteen fours, and he knocked up fifty of his runs in half an hour.
