* . FOXTON EACES. The weather was threatening for the Foxton races yesterday, but the attendance was very good, and the meeting should prove satisfactory. All the officials worked hard to make the gathering a success, and the races were got off well up to time. Messrs Hill and Poole worked the totalisator, and passed through .£2,451 during the day. Hurdles, 1£ miles. Auroa, 10-0 (W. Holmes) 1 Waikawa, 9-0 2 Shan, 9-10 8 Ben Lomond, Pumau, Elaine, and Alpaca also started. Elaine ran off at the second jump. Won by a neck after a grand race. Autumn Handicap, 1\ miles. lonic, 8-9 " (James) 1 Pill, 9-5 2 Bonovoree, 8-3 8 Tangikai, Hark, Veracity, Slave Girl, and Karamea also ran. lonic led most of the way, and won rather easily by two lengths. A protest was entered against the winner on the ground of wrongful entry, but was dismissed. Stewards Handicap, 1J miles. Pill, 9-0 (Colello) 1 lonic, 9 5 2 Waikawa, 6-10 3 Veracity, Ben Lomond, and Hippodamia also started. Won easily at the finish. Dividend L 2 12. Fouced Handicap, 1 mile and a distance. Slave Girl, 7-4 (Schaffer) 1 Pihango, 7-0 2 Tangikai 7-7 3 Elaine, Lord Lyon, and Moenga also started. This was the best raoe of the day. Dividend, LI 17s.
