Tho United Farmers' Alliance report: -Our opening sale at Ashurst to-day nroved'quite up to expectations, more stock coming forward than were advertised. With the exception of one lint 1 , which was not advertised, nearly every» thing changed hands before leaving the yards. Our next Ashurst sah» will be held in April. Wo quote :— Cattle : Springing heifers L 4 10s ; heifers in calf, L 3 !0s to L 3 16s store cows, L 2 Its. Sheep ; Fat wethers. 12s; store wethers, 10s Id to lls; shorn lambs. Gs Gd ; old ewes. Is 3d to 6s ; 2 -tooth rams, 30s. The following wore the prices obtained at Messrs Abraham and Williams' stock sale at Coljton. F.nt cott.«, Lo ; dairy cows, Li 2s 6J to L5 ; 18-nionths steers. L 32s Gd ; 18-month heifers. L3; wennor-, 28s to 37s 6d. Sheep— 2»too(h wethers, lls; woolly lamb*. 6s 6d to Ss ; shorn lambs, 6^ Gd to 7s Gd ; fat ewes, 10s 2d ; brecdiug ewes, 8s 7d ; small 2 toolb ewes, 10s 5Jd.
