Shocking Murder at Sea
(I>EK I'KESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, This Day. Arrived, s.s. Richmond, from Taihiti. Sho reports a mutiny aud murder at soa on tho Amoricun burquo Vespor, of Sau Francisco. Tho barquorun in to Taihiti on Jauuary 27th, bound from Newcaste to Honolulu with coals. Captain Soder-. roportod that tho crow murdered tho second mate, that ho, his wife, chief officor, and steward were in peril of their lives. Tho crow wore arrostod, and sout to San Francisco for trial. Two of tho prisoners turned States ovidonce. The crow woro ujjler fio impression the captain had in his possession a cousidorablo sum «>f monoy, aud proposod to kill the captaiu and officprs, aud get possession of tho ship and the gold. On January 13th the second mate, Fitzgerald, was decoyed forward and killed with i lie cook's chopper and his body thrown overboard. The killing of the captain aud the crew was put off the crew s tying they had dono enough for one iiit»!i t. In the meant i mo the captain and mato well armed kept tlio deck for a fortnight- l ne crw were all shipped at Newcastle
