A. man was found hanging by a rope from a tree at Newtown Park this morning. He was quite dead when discovered and apparently had been dead for some time. From papers found in his pockets there is no doubt the body is that of Henry Donnelly, engineer, late ot Auckland, where he leaves & wife and family. Deceased arrived here a short time since, and a week ago was reported missing. Gisbokne, This Day. A peculiar law suit was heard at the B.M. Court, one native suing another for £100 damages for enticing his wife away and harboring her. Both were young men, and the wife was a girl about 18. Plaintiff claimed damages for sorrow at heart, which bad been caused by his wife's elopement. Defendant endeavoured to prove that the plaintiff had ill-treated his wife and he took pity on her, but this defence failed, and Mr Booth, R.M., gave judgment for plaintiff for £25 and costs £S 12a.
