Mi* MacKinnon, owner of Lockness, who ran socond to Freeth's Rebellion in the Telegraph Handicap on Monday last, has instituted an action in the Supreme Court against the Wellington Racing Club for the recovery of the stako3 £80, maintaining that Rebellion was not lawfully entitled to run in the race. The weather is beautiful and the course is improved by yesterday's rain. The attendance is fair and increasing. Senator is scratched for the January Handicap. Following are results : — January Handicap — Freelance, 1 ; Torpedo, 2 ; Violence, 3. These were the odlv starters and after a grand race was won by half a length. Time, 2min 2sec. D iyidend £4 2s. Hurdles — Disturbance 1, Jacob 2, Paradox 3. Won easily. The following nominations have been received for the "Wanganui J.C.
