Resolved, That tenders be called for the work in Edward street, Birmingham, as soon as thirds are in hand and ayailable. Resolved, That permission be given Mr Cameron to fell road line as requested. Resolved, That the Secretary inform Mr Sherlock that the Board is not responsible for damage done by the contractor referred to. Resolved, That the Engineer inspect the road referred to by Mr Ritzman, and report at next meeting of the Board. Resolved, That the request of George Malcolm and others be granted, and that tenders be called for the work as soon us the thirds are in hand and available. Resolved, That H. Wishaw's application for ranger be accepted, the office to be held during the pleasnre of the Board. Resolved, That Mr Boggiss be informed that the Board have no power to deal with the land in question until the transfer be completed, also that the thirds will be spent when received from the Government. Resolved, That the slaughtering fee be fixed at 20s for the coming year. Resolved, That Captain Somerville be informed that the Government are sending forms for settlers to rill up as to how they wish their thirds spent, and the Board would point out that they consider the best plan of spending the thirds, is to pay interest on the loan, otherwise the special rate will have to be collected. The Wnrd has no rates or thirds in hand at present. Resolved, That the Chairman and Warden Jones wait on the Manager oF the Bank of Australasia, to arrange for a limit of ±1500 until the 31st of March. Resolved, That the Secretary write to the Government re the ±'480 Oroua Valley road grant, asking them to allow the Kiwitea Road Board ±'300 complete 4 miles to the Orona river, and to allot £180 to the Pohangina Road Board to complete two miles oil the other Bide of the river. It was subsequently arranged that Mr Shepaleski should start I on the road at once, on his agreeing to wait for payments until the money is received from the Government. Resolved, That the Engineer call for fresh tenders for forming and culverting three miles of the Northern line, and for metalling two miles of the Wai tunaValley road, and forming and metalling up to ±'300 on McKay's line. Resolved, That the following tenders be accepted conditionally that the contractors agree to wait for their payments until the money is received from the Government:- -Berenht and Strawbridge, for Waituna Valley road, ±-205 9s; Metalling and trimming on Northern line, C. J. Cameron, ±'1 15s 6d per chain ; C. Groom, for Pakihikararoad-Sandon Block, £2 17s 6d|per chain ; E. Charles, installing Waituna Ward at 3s 3d per yard ; J. Shepaleski, trimming and metalling Oroua Valley road, ±'1 13s per chain ; F Rink, metalling Kimbolton road at Is 8d per yard ; George Younger, Rangitikei rood east-Sandon Block, £322. Mr Bray explained to the Board that where large contracts are entered into by the Board, and sureties accepted by it from the contracting parties, the deeds referring to said contracts are registered. The usual monthly accounts were passed foe payment, and the Board adjourned.
