Volunteer Items
The Palmerston North Rifles have put up a record this year, 56 out of 59 members having earned their capitation, which we believe will amount to £112. Lieut. Montague has resigned his commission owing to pressnre of business. The following are the members selected to represent the Palmerston Rifles in the match with the Manchester Rifles to be fired here on Monday next : — Capt Hall, Sergt Richardson, Lance-Corpls Wickens and Kells, Prvts W. Parkes, Hopkins, Wadsworth, Giles, Batt, Hartley, and Kerr. Emergencies —Corpl Aydon and Prvt Hancock. The team will arrive by the 7.15 a.m. train on Monday.
