Kiwitea Road Board

The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held to-day. Present — Messrs Taylor (chairman), Jones, Homer, Morton, and Shannon. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was dealt with : — From D. Ritzman, drawing attention to the bad state of the road opposite his section. From C. Cameron, requesting permission to fell the bush on the road lines facing his sections in the Ongo and Apiti districts. From Crown Lands Office, stating that Thomas Stent's interest in section 23, Block I, Apiti, had been reinstated. From the Department of Lands, stating that the Board's request for a road through the Pahikikura Village Reserve, should receive careful attention. From Wilhelmine Johns, requesting to be informed whether the Oroua Valley road is finished. From H. Wishaw, applying for position of ranger, at driving fees. From J. R. Anderson, agent for Mrs Hastie, requesting payment for bush falling on road line. From Hales Boggiss, offering to purchase that portion o( land adjoining his section, which was taken from his portion to deviate the road to the Oroua river. From J. Rowell, calling attention to a former letter he had scut to the Board respecting the road line through section 82, block 7, Ongo. From W. J. Vile, dmwing attention to the bad state of Hayn6a' road. From H. Wishaw, enclosing a statement from the Commissioner of Crown Lands, and stating that .£45 19s 2d was due on Edward street, Birmingham, and that the Board had received from section 30 £9 4s 7d, and claiming that .£7O should be spent on the road. From Messre Hutchison and Hogg, solicitors for Messrs Younger and Laing, stating that they are not desirous of setting the law in motion if satisfactory arrangements can be made, and intimating that they are prepared to perform their part of the contract. From J. K. Somerville and others, desiring that the thirds accrued on their sections be spent on the continuation of the Tapuae Uulge road. From the Palmerston North Hospital Board, requesting payment of A'sß 12s 6d, amount due from the Kiwitea Board. From C. Sherlock, claiming J?2 for damage done to his fenco by J, Shepulesiki. From tho Treasury, requesting payment of i.'a ( JO 8s 7d interest due on the Board's debt. j Left sitting!
