Owing to the decrease in the number of entries the Council has made the following reductions in the various matches : — Nelson £70 to £43 ; Hawke's Bay, £65 £40 ; Wanganui, £65 to £40 ; Wellington, i £120 to £80 ; Ladies', £65 to £40 ; Otago, £70 to £43; Auckland, £65 to £40; Grand Aggregate, £50 to £40 ; Last Try, £65 to L4O ; Champion, Ll3O to LllO ; Nursery, LSO to L25. The District Match prize money remains at L2O. The following champion shots are taking part in the present meeting : — W. H. Ballinger, Wellington, 1879 ; Churton, Wanganui, 1884 ; Remington, Wanganui, 1886; Purnell, Wanganui, 1888; Parslow, Auckland, 1889; Williams, Weilington, 1890; Kruse, Wanganui 1891; Doughty, Auckland, 1892 ; Ross, Napier (Carbine Champion), 1884, 1886, and 1888. In the Auckland match the following were three highest scorers: — J. Dickson, Peninsula R. C, Dunedin, L6 43 ; Corp. Guise, Wellington City Rifles, L5 42 ; A. J. Cameron, Temii 8.C., L4 42. Volunteer Hcott, of the Manchester Rifles, made a score of 35. January 13. The following are the principal prize winners in the Nelson match: — Head (Auckland), 93, £6; Rose (Auckland), 93, £5; Aitcheson (KaitaDgata), 91, £4; Burns (Wellington), 90, £3 ; Craig (iJexandra Cavalry), 90, £2. Trentham, This Day. The weather is fine but duli, with a breeze from the north-west. Parslow is about again, his retiring yesterday was caused by a severe billious attack. The council will decide to-day whether he be allowed in matches in which he retired. The following teams have entered for the Teams match : — Wangtinui Rifles, A Battery (Auckland), Dunedin Rifle Club, Hen. Petone R.C., £5, 47 ; Gunner Head, A Bat., Auckland, £4, 46 ; Jas. Scott, Manchester Rifles, Feilding, 35. Wanganui Match.— Sergt. Rose, Newton R., £6, 39; Gunr. Humphries. F. Bat., Napier, ±5, 39 ; Pt. C R'. Bidwell, Featherston R.C., £4, 38. The highest aggregate scorers are: — Sergt. Rose, Newton R., Auckland, 201 ; Gr. Humphries, F Bat., Napier, 199; Cpl. Kiug, Oamaru Garrison Bund, 197 ; • Gr. Head, A Bat., Auckland, 196 ; Vol. A. Ballinger, Wellington C.G., 196. In the Ladies' Match, 200yds , the principal prize takers are : Randall, Paltnerstou North, 47, £6 ; Howe, Wellingtou, £5, 45 ; J. Cameron, Tenui, £4, 45.
