Battle in the Soudan

(I'EK PKKSS ASSOCIATION. Caiuo, January 3. A fierco battle was fought at Ainbigol between the Dervishes and the Egyptian troops. Tho latter were repeatedly charged by the Dervishes, who lost heavily, and eventually boat a retreat. One Unttsh officer and 46 Egj'ptiaus were killed. January 4. Later particulars of the engagement show the Egyptian cavalry surprised the Dervish cavalry and infantry at Ambigol Wolls, the latter being greatly superior in number. Fierco hand to hand fighting took place. The loss on the British side included Captain Pyuo of the Dorsetshire Kegimout and one major of Egyptian troops Fifty of tho Egyptian cavalrymen wore loft dead on the fiolds. After their defeat tho Dervishes iled southwards.
