Wellington, This Day. The Government intend to establish four state farms, one :n each centre, and regulations are being drawn up, each to bo placed under a practical manager. The Knights of Labor in Canterbury have applied to the Government to establish a co-operative settlement on the Cheviot estate. The Premier is favorable, and will place the matter before Mr McKenzio on his return. Although entries for the N.Z. Rifle Association meeting, beginning on the 12th instant, do not close before the 9th, a large number have been received, including mtwiy Australians.
