Wellington Land Board

The monthly meeting of this body was held yesterday morning. Present — Messrs J. H. Baker (Commissioner), in the chair, A. W. Hogg, M.H.R., and T. W. Fisher. The following applications to obtain titles were approved : — C London, section 16, block 14, Apiti ; J R Russell, section 13, block 14, Pohangina. The following applications to capitalise were approved : — C Gagern, section 10, block 12, Apiti ; J Jones, section 46, block 7, Apiti ; C London, iun., section 16, block 14, Apiti ; R Holley, sections 37 and 38, block 10, Pohangina; J R Russell, section 13, block 14, Pohangina ; G Potts, section 36, block 4, Ongo ; G Potts section 65, block 4, Ongo. The following transfers were approved : — Section 2, block 10, Apiti, from "W J Shaw to G H H and P Beard ; section 31 block 1, Apiti, from T C Paulin to W J Paulin. The following transfers will be allowed if the necessary conditions are complied with : — Section 4, block 14, Pohangina, from E Lloyd to B Poole ; section 2, block 7, Pohangina. from T W McKenzie to C and J A McKenzie. Mr G P Church and Mr A Mcßeth applied to be allowed to select parts of sections 15 and 10, block 10, Apiti, without competition, under section 114 of the Land Act, 1892. The board resolved, as the land is in a settled district, to put the sections tip separately to nuction at an upset price of 30s per acre. The Surveyor-General wrote stating that married women could not be allowed to be become selectors of sections in f special settlement associations, as these settlements are brought under Parts 111. and IV. of the Land Act, 1892. The selector of section 1, block 11, Pohangina, applied for time in which to make his payments. The Board decided that if all due is not paid by the end of January action will be taken to recover the amount. The Board decided to take no action in regard to improvements to be effected by Mr G Bam bridge on section 2, block 14, Apiti.
