The Panama Canal Scandal
+ (PSB PBESB ASSOCIATION.) Pabis, December 28. Letters found in the Panama Canal Company's office implicate many members of the Chamber of Deputies and disclose the name of an ambassador of high rank who sold his support for 300,000 francs. Le Figaro states that the post mortem on the body of Baron Eeinach proves that he was poisoned, aud that he did not commit suicide. The paper also throws out insinuations in connection with two other sudden deaths, and declares that there are surprises of an important character in store when the Chamber of Deputies resumes next month. It is rumoured that a series of scandals of the same character as the Panama Canal revelations will shortly be brought to light against prominent public men. Dynamite cartridges found in the precincts of the late Baron Reinach's house failed to explode. It' is reported that many members of the Chamber of Deputies have invited Prince Victor Bonaparte to head a movement in favour of a Consular Eepublic. M, Andrieux has chaJleuged M. Ribofc, the Premier to fight a duel.
