Christmas Holidays

In respect to the holidays for Christmas we are informed that a deputation from the Employes Association has waited on a number of the storekeepers in town in reference to closing for two days—Monday and Tuesday—and have met with favourable replies, and they are willing to close if others do, and the same be notified in the local paper, The deputation stated that if there were two days for Christmas they would not think of getting the usual half-holiday on Wednesday. We notice that in a number of towns they intend to have two days for Christmas—Monday and Tuesday— and as the banks are to be closed on those days we do not see the reason why Feilding should not have its two holidays as well.
