Dobson-Kennedy Company

Speaking of Dobson-Kennedys' performance of "The Lady of Lyons," an 6xchange says. — " The Company have certainly spared neither expense nor pains in the matter of dress. It is said that the costumes worn by the Lady of Lyons alone cost over £100, and they are really exquisite creations. Pauline's reception dress is of a delicate rose pink. The skirt of handsone brocade is perfectly plain to the foot ; the overdress with Watteau train, pointed bodice, with polonaise basque, and silver-lined angel sleeves, is bordered with beautiful silver passementerie, the neck almost square cut, outlined with silver, is finished -with high Medici collar, edged with sparkling beads, fan of pink ostrich plumes, head dress of white feathers, and pink ribbons fastened with silver bandeau. Bridal robe, long court train of ivory satin over plain laceedged skirt of moire, bodice with fullplaited paniers and Elizabethan' collar of satin, long tulle veil, and lovely wreath of orange blossom and lilies of the valley. In the third act she wears a trailing neglige of white Indian muslin, transparent bell shaped sleeves and handsome golden gridle, and in the last scene a teagown of pale blue broche with overdress of handsomely braided primrose tinted cloth, square cut sleeves lined with pale blue ; full frills of white lace from the collar, and the shoulder knots are of pale blue ribbon." ■..,... <
