Major Sommerville has received in» formation from the Central Board of Examination that the following officers, who weie examined in Wanganui on the sth instant, haye passed their examina* tions : — College cadets, Captain Atkinson and Lieutenants Willis and Atkinson ; Palmerston Rifles, Lieutenant Dunderhill; and Lieutenant James, of the Mounted Rifles. The three first named officers have passed for captains' rank. The Manchester Rifles will parade this evening in the Assembly Rooms. By the courtesy of Lieut. »Col. Newall the following capitation parades of the Manchester Rifles will be held .'—October 27, November 3, 10, 17 and 24, December 1, 8, Id, and 22. This will enable members who are behind hand to attend sufficient parades to qualify for capitation. We haye authority for stating that every member who fails to take advantage of these parades to make up for lost time, will be fined the amount of his capitation.
