New South Wales Rifle Association Meeting

(per press association. I Sydney. October 23. In the Champion Aggregate Match Kruse (Wanganui) finished tenth with a score of 358. The council of the New South Wales Rifle Association has fined the New Zealanders for breach of regulations in the Champion Teams Match, but has awarded them the first prize. An analysis of the prize list for the week shows that the New Zealand competitors carried off 48 individual prizes, exclusive of prizes in the continuous matches. The Intercolonial Championship Match (open to teams of 10 men aside ; 500,60, and 700 yards ; 14 shots at each range) was won by the Victorian team. Purnell, of Wanganui, fired splendidly He made one miss at the 700 yds range, which was the only occasion he went off the target during the meeting. The New Zealand team led by 20 points at the short range, but the Victorian's caught them at the next stage, and gained a lead of L 8 points. The New Zealanders fell to pieces j at the 700 yds range, where they made the lowest score. The meeting has now closed.
