Birmingham Wesleyan Church

■ . "i» :' " :■> . . '■ .;• The quarterly meeting in connection with the Birmingham Wesleyan Church, was held on Thursday in the church. Consider' ing the stormy weather which has prevailed during the past . quarter, the appointments have not been taken in everyplace on the plan, .but the finances had not materially suffered. The meeting spoke very highly of 'Mr Birk's services and gave him a hearty, invitation to remain a third year. A very hopeful view was taken of the mission; The services are well attended at Birmingham, and a good work is being done. At half past seven a social was held, the choir being taken by Mr W. Morton, senior circuit steward. The choir gave several pieces in a very efficient manner. Messrs Guy and Anyon made humour* ous and practical speeches. Mr Lindsay gave a reading, and Messrs Boss and E. Perry recitations.' The Chairman of the district (Rev. Keall) made a lengthy and interesting speech, in which he expressed himself well pleased with the work of the mission. Votes of thanks to the ladies,' and the chairman, and a few remarks from Mr Bides brought a very successful and enjoyable meeting to a close.
