(PEtt TRESS ASSOCIATION). Sydney, September 30. The Legislative Assembly sat continuously until 6 o'clock to-night. The amendment condemning the action of the Government in placing £1000 to Sir G. Dibb's credit for his English tour, was negatived by 82 to 52. The ameudment moved by Mr Cann, member for Broken Hill, condemning the action of the Government in regard to the strike, was also negatived by 99 to 37. The motion of censure moved by the Leader of the Opposition was negatived by 68 to 64. The Labour Party voted with the Opposition. The result was announced amid Government cheers, and Opposition cries of 1 ' resign." The Aquatic Carnival resulted as follows : Neilson, 1 ; Croese, 2 ; Towns. 3. There has been more stormy whether in the country, and a big fEood is expected in the Murrumbidgee. This Day. Sir Harry Parkes and Mr Reid assert an analysis of the voting yesterday shows the Government were practically defeated. Sir G. R. Dibbs, however, claims the division as a glorious truimph. Melbourne, This Day. The captain of the ship Greenbrair, recently wrecked off the coast, is to be charged with misconduct by careless navigation. The revenue for the quarter is a hundred thousand pounds less than for the corresponding period of last year. The receipts, so far, are L 433,000 below estimate.
