Wanganui Education Board
• : ' The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board commenced last night. Messrs G. Carson (chairman), Beckett, Fry, Notman, Hurley, Bridge/and Sanaon, and the Rev J. Ross were present, The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following appointments were made in committee : — Campbelltown.— Miss O'Brien was appointed assistant teacher. Hiwinui. — A number of applications were selected to be forwarded for the vacancy caused by Mr Goldsbury's transfer to Maxwelltown. Palmerston.— ln reply to a letter from the Committee, the Secretary was instructed to state that the school was at present fully officered. Sandon.— Applicants for pupil teachership to be informed that there is at nresent no vacancy. .-,.,, ' Bunnythorpe.— Miss Watts, of Feud* ing. to be offered the post of pupil teacher. < ■ Colyton, Greatford and Stoney Creek. Correspondence in connection with the teaching staff of these schools was re* ceived and dealt with. Relieving Teacher.— Mr D. H. Jenkins, of the Turakina School, was appointed relieving teacher utider the Board. Several applications for appointment were held over. . The Board then adjourned until 10 o'clock this morning.
