The Manchester Rifles will parade this evening at 7.30 sharp, in the Assembly Rooms. The Palmerston North Rifles are endeavouring to establish a reading room and gymnasium in connection with the corps, and the local business people have promised liberal support. Well done Palmerston. A Royal warrant, dated 29th July, has been issued constituting a special decoration for officers who have served 20 years in the " Volunteer Officers' Decoration," and is to consist of an oak wreath in silver, tied with gold, having in the centre the Royal cypher and crown. It is to be worn suspended from the left breast by a green riband of one inch and a half in width from a silver oak bar brooch. — Post.
