The Political Crisis in England
(PEBPBESB ASSOCIATION.) London. July 24. The majority for the titter in England was 121,635. The Home Rule majority in Wales was 51,636; in Scotland, 36,---17 5; and in Ireland 236,828. The net majority in favour of Home Bale was 203,014. The friends of Mr Gladstone and also his medical advisers are pressing him to accept a peerage. Sir W. Y. Harcourfc is consulting the Radicals as to the advisability of demanding that the House of Lords sliall not be permitted to force a dissolution over Home Rule. An amendment will be moved, to the Address-in Replj in the House of Commons, with the view of showing that the country will not trust Lord Salisbury. Sir Charles Dilke is ia favour of granting autonomy to Wales and Scot* land as well as Ireland. Sir Win. Vernon Harcourt will lead the Liberal Party in the House of Com* mons. The Daily News advocates the Liberal Party having a trial of strength with the House of Lords. July2s. Lord Salisbury, the Duke^bf Devon* shire, and Mr J. Chamberlain paid an official visit to the Queen yesterday. The Balkan States haye sent congratulations to Mr Gladstone on his success. It is stated that the Unionists are arranging for an early discussion of Gladstone's want of confidence motion, to be moved on August 9th,
