Messrs Stevens and Gorton report as follows on their stock sales:— Owing to the wretched weather experienced during the last few days a number of the sheep advertised for our sale on the 21st instant at Palmerston, did not cotne forward. We had good entries for cattle, including a grand line of forward bullocks/which elicited spirited competition. We cleared the yards of everything under the ham. iner, except one pen of backward dairy cows, for which outside value was required. We quote as nnder : Fat bullocks (light), £5 12s 6d to £6 Is; forward bullocks, £5 3s to £5 4s ; 2£ to 3-year steers, £4 Is ; cows and heifers, £8 13s 6d to.i-4 12s 6d ; yearling heifers, in poor condition, £%. Fat wethers, 14s 4d ; mixed shorn hog. gets, 7s 9d *, ewes in latnb, mixed ages 10s lid to 11s 3d; 2-tooth do., 14s 6dold do., 7s lOd. '
