The contract for building Messrs Barraud and Abraham's stock yards here, has been secured by Mr Fred Young of this place, and it is expected that they will be completed and ready for business about the middle of . October. Messrs Entwisle and Fitch have disposed of their butchery business to Mr Dugald Henderson, of Ashurst, and the latter takes possession on the 1 Ist of August. The enlargement to the school is nearly completed and it is expected to , be quite finished in a fortnight's time, the increased accommodation will provide for a further number of seventyfive scholars, the present building only allowing room for forty-five children. The work has been satisfactorily carried out by Messrs Hubner Bros, of Makino, under the supervision of Mr Atkins, architect, Wanganui.
