Birmingham Notes
A __ FROM OUR TRAVELLING CORRESPONDENT. I think with everybody else who travels on the Kitnbolton road, that somethiug should be done to improve that part of it just about opposite Major Moore's farm. Why not clear out the mud holes, put in fascines, and tnon motal over all ? It wouldn't cost much, and would make the lives of the coach and dray horses less of a burden to them. Snow fell here on Sunday, and was not an unpleasant reminder of the Old 1 Country. Mr Cridland nearly lost an eye last Saturday^ when working in the forest. A supplejack sprung back, and inflictiug a nasty wound on the face. Under the euergetic management of Mr Anyon a Band of Hope is being organised here. I hear that Miss Lowes, assisted by Mr Anyon, is rehearsing the ' Sunday school children for the opening of the church, which will be a big event.
