Kiwitea Road Board

A special meeting of the Board was held on ' Saturday. Present — Messrs Homer. Bnrton, Lucas, Williamson, and Morton. Mr Williamson was appointed to preside. Tbe Secretary read copies of two letters which had been sent to the Hon. the Premier, with reference to special grant from the Government for the completion of the Kimbolton road. Mr Homer handed in the following telegram, which he had received on the matter from the Hon. the Premier:— " Have seen Minister of Lands who approves of expenditure on roads. Under Secretary will write you in reply to your letter, and has received instructions. — J. Ballance." Eesolved, That the tender of Messrs Younger and Lang for trimming the long cutting At £4 2s per chain be accepted on condition that they wait until the Government forward the money. On the application of Mrs S. G. Pitts, for charitable aid, it was decided to grant her 10s per week until the next meeting of the (Board. The Board then adjourned.
