Manchester Road Board
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above wad held on Saturday last, Present—Messrs Gr. Wheeler (in the chair) Purkiss, Pearce, And Eeeve. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The correspondence was dealt with iv the following resolutions : — Proposed by Mr Pnrkisg, seconded by Mr Pearce, That Mr Leth bridge be elected Chairman, and Mr G. Wheeler, Treasurer. — Carried.. Proposed by Mr Purkiss, seconded by Mr Pearce, That the Chairman arrange with Mr Sandilands, for the purpose oi calling a meeting as requested by Mr McCrea. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Purkiss, seconded by Mr Pearce, That the names of T. J. Smith, instead of J. Johnston for sections 88 and 39 sub-division H. Elizabeth Eeeve, instead of Feilding Corporation for Bection 91 Ashurßt, Alfred Eeeve, instead of Feilding Corporation for section 120 Ashurst, T. F. Reeve, instead of Feilding Corporation for sections 88 and 89 Ashurst, be placed on the Bate 801 l for the Manchester Eoad District.— Carried. Proposed by Mr Eeeve, seconded by Mr Purkiss, That 3s 6d be granted to charitable aid, care of Mr Goldfinch, - - i Valley road, and the Clerk be instructed to purchase one pair of blankets at a cost ot not more than 15s.— Carried. Proposed by Mr Reeve, seconded by Mr Purkiss, That the Engineer be instructed to have made two, three feet moulds for the purpose of constructing concrete pipes. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Eeeve, seconded by Mr Pearce, That the Clerk make enquires as to the vesting of Pembroke street Ashurst, as a public road in the ManChester Eoad Board,— Carried. Proposed by Mr Eeeve, seconded, by Mr Pearce, that tenders be called for the metalling of Pohangina road, Ashurst, from Mulgrave street to the junction of Pohangina and Feilding Ashurst road; also for the metalling of Stanford street, and the portion of Bamfield street already formed; tenders to be in by the next meeting of the Board.— Carried. Proposed by Mr Eeeve, seconded by Mr Purkiss, That tenders be called for the formation and metalling of Bamfield street from the present formation to the north end of Durham street.— Carried. Proposed by Mr Pearce, seconded by Mr Purkiss, That the Clerk be instructed to send notice to all persons allowing pigs to stray on roads in the Mancester Eoad District that they must keep them off the roads. Also to owners where gorse fences have spread upon the road to have it at once removed and kept cleaned. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Purkiss, seconded by Mr Eeeve, That a general rate of £d in the £ be struck on all the rateable property in the Manchester Eoad District. — Carried. The Board then adjourned.
