Ashurst Notes

[from our own correspondent. ] The meeting in the English Church advertised in your columns took place on Thursday night. The Rev H. B. Harvey took the chair, and called on Mr Whibley to state the object of the meeting. The principle business was to discuss the adyisibility of uniting Asuurst, Bunnythorpe, and Pohangina into one parochial districts. The proposed line of division to be submitted to the standing committee will include the whole of No 6 Ward, and the Pohangina as far as the boundary of the Feilding parochial district aud such portions of the No 5 Ward as will include Bunnythorpe in the new parish. At a committee meeting held immediately after Mr Orayen was elected Chairman, and Mr F. W. Whibley Secretary. The members divided the district between them, and will start to canvas at once.
