[ PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. I London, May 5. The amount insured against Oriae's starting for the Derby was J-1000 not £10,000. Eyidence has been secured that before the alleged poisoning ot the colt there had been a very large amount of betting both in England and abroad in small amounts against his starting. It is stated that the Duke of Westminister intends to start Orme for the Derby at all hazards, if only to thwart the suspected swindlers who are expecting to make money aut of the horse's illness. May 6. At the Newmarket Meeting to-day the One Thousand Guineas resulted as fol» lows:--La Fleche, 1; Sined, 2; Adoration, 3. Orme ?ras worse yesterday, but is better to-day. The Duke of Westminster, the owner, George Lewis, and J. Porter, trainer, besides several veterinary surgeons, insist in saying that the horse was poisoned with mercury.
