|PISR UNITED PBKS* ASSOCIATION'! Paris, April 27. Twelve Anarchists have been arrested j at Roubaix. j It is reported that those who arranged the destruction of M. Very's restaurant have fled to England. j The Crown Prosecutor made a fearless { appeal for the capital sentence on the An- : archists. ■ Bavachol's counsel, M. Lagasse, made , a passionate argument on behalf of his . client, and it is believed that this, to some extent, led the jury to make the recommendation to mercy. The jurors who tried the Anarchists on emerging from the courthouse were met with cries of " Cowards." April 28. The police have decided to proceed against Ravachol for murdering a number of people some time ago. The Anarchists have threatened to kill M. Beaurepaire, who conducted the case for the prosecution during Bavachol's trial, and M. Therot, the waiter. Special protection is being afforded to M. Beaurepaire, and soldiers are guarding his private residence. The London and Continental press charge the jury in Ravachol's case with cowardice, and warn France that she may expect further outrages of a similar character. They consider the verdict has partially justified Anarchism. Three Anarchists have been arrested in the city on a charge of being concerned in the explosion, Upwards of 3000 dynamite cartridges, which it is believed were intended for Paris Anarchists, have been intercepted in Belgium. Seilmann, an Anarchist, has written to the police, declaring that it was selected by lot who should destroy M. Very's restaurant, fie alleges that he and con* federates were drinking coffee in the front bar of the restaurant when he pushed with his foot a packet of dynamite into the desired position. They then lit a fuse with a cigar and left the building, but returning to watch the effect of their handiwork. Kavacliol is being tried for tbe murder of a hermit, to which he confessed, and in the event of his acquit' al he will probably be sent to Noumea. Rome, April 27. A bomb was exploded in the residence of the President of the Leghorn Chamber of Commerce, but fortunately no one was injured. April 28. The Anarchists are showing increased activity throughout Italy. Bombs were exploded in a private residence in Rome, in the Finance Department in Nnples, and in a village church near Massa, but luckily the outrages were not attended with loss of life. Thirty Anarchists have, been arrested at Leghorn, five at Havre, and one at Lisbon for having dynamite in their possession, London, April 27. Nicholls, the editor, and Mowbray, publisher of The Commonwealth, have been committed for trial on a charge of publishing a seditious article inciting the Anarchists to kill the Home Secretary and Mr Justice Hawkins.
