New Gold Field

« [ PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. ) Wellington, This Day, Mr Allen, warden ol the Marlborough District, has forwarded a report on the recent find in Duncan Valley. He says the country appears to be of the same description as Cullen's Valley, and he thinks may prove equally as rich. Water in summer will be very scarce. At present there is nothing to warrant a rush, and if all the ground should prove payable there is not room for more than 400 or 500 men. Many claims are pegged out, and to get claims on Crown Land the miners would have to go far up the range. Duncan, the owner of the ground, will allow claims to be taken up on reasonable terms, and give access to Crown Land until a road is made.
