Filding Jockey Club.

« — EASTER MEETING. The splendid racecourse now owned by the Feilding Jockey Club, and the magnificent grand stand erected thereon, with other suitable buildings, combined with the substantial financial position of the club, have enabled the officials to present 1 a most creditable programme for the Easter meeting, which we publish to-day, 1 from which it will be seen that a two ■ day's meeting will be held at Easter (Monday and Tuesday, 18th and 19th April • respectively), when a total of £635 will be 1 given in prizes. The principal event on the first day will be the Feilding Handicap of iJISO, and on the second day the Oroua Handicap of i>loo. The prizes for i the smaller eyents are also on a liberal scale, and should prove an attraction to owners of hacks of the best class, Noin- , inations for both days handicaps will close , with the secretary, Mr Edmund Goodbehere, on Wednesday, 30th March, at 8.30 p.m. Weights will be declared for the first day's races on or about Mon- \ day, the 4th April, and for the second • day on Monday, 18th April at 9 p.m. Other details are given in the advertisement. There can be 110 question that the rnembera of the club are deserving of great credit for their enterprise, and we have every confidence they will meet the success they deserve. Sporting men of the largest ex- , perience have declared that the Feilding ■ course is now second to none in the ! colony, and high encomiums have been 1 passed on the club for the labor they haye • bestowed on the track to make it everything that is required.
