I.PSU UNITED PBES3 ASSOCIATION^' Adelaide, January 14. The principal members of Sir Thos. Elder's Central Australia Expedition have resigned, and the Geographical Society I has directed Mr David Lindsay, the leader, to accept their resignations and return to Germanton to consult with the members of the Society. The cause of the disaffection has not yet been divulged. Sydney, January 14. The s.s. Lubeck has arrived from Apia with Samoan news of sth inst. A Government party, 200 strong, has been sent to disarm the rebels. They reached Suimer without opposition, and then proceeded to Aamer, a short distance from Mataafa's camp, where the latter is erecting forts to prevent further advance. Mataafa's force is reported to be larger than that of the Government yet sent out. Therefore nothing has been done for a few days. Mataafa is willing to submit to the King provided that the proclamation declaring him a rebel is withdrawn.
