THE FEILDING POST OFFICE.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STARg IRj — I should be glad if you could throw a little light on the following queries. Is it optional with post office officials as to what time they shall sort the mails ? Is it studying the interests of those who pay for private boxes, to say nothing of two other local branches of Government Departments, to delay sorting the mails till nearly 10 o'clock, as was the case last night ? Should a postmaster be at his lodge, and his assistant at a " young men's improvement class," both at the same time, and when they should be on their public duty, for which they are paid ? — I am, &c, Private Box.
