TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR.

Sir, — Could you kindly inform me how if; was that the Wellington mail closing at 8 p.m. last night was not made up for despatch as usual, and also why the evening mails from Palmerston and from Wanganui were not sorted ? There seems to have been great neglect somewhere. — I am, &c, Enquires. [We have seen the Postmaster, who informs us that the officer whose duty itwas to meet the train missed it, for which he has been duly reported. The mail from the north was sorted at 9.15 p.m. It is worthy of note this is the first time any omission of the kind has happened at the Feilding office. — Ed. F.S.J
