George Wilks, of Feilding) seeks to recover £1200, the» value of furniture and live stock seized by the sheriff at Wanganui in satisfaction of judgment obtained against her husband in the slander case brought against him by Mrs Martha Lissaman, schoolmistress, of Feilding, is being heard irt " tbe Supreme Court before the Chief Jus--t'ce to day. Mrs Wilks claims that she bought the furniture aud stock With her own money, and tbat, therefore, she is-' entitled to recover the value of them. Mr Jelkcoe is appearing for tbe plaintiff, and Mr Gully for Mrs Lissaman and the* the sheriff. This Day. In the Wilks interpleader case a com- - promise was effected after two witnesseshad been examined, and the hearing. was. not proceeded with.
