July 8. For the V.R.C. Grand National Hurdles the erstwhile New Zealander Ixion 'has been installed first favourite, and has been backed to win £6000. Tue best price about him now is 10 to 1, and there is but little money in the market for him. Wellington, July 8. Yardman was scratched for the Wellington Steeplechase at 4.15 this afternoon.
