(PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Sydney, July 7. The sculling race between Stanßbury and McLean for the championship of the world and £200 aside was rowed on the Paramatta Biver this afternoon. The course was from Uhr's point, instead of Charity point as hitherto, thus making it six hundred yards shorter than the usual championship course. Stansbury had slightly the call in the betting, and he had, if anything, a little the better of the start, but McLean was soon on terms with him. Up to the mile post the race was very exciting, each doing his utmost and the boats keeping on fairly even terms. McLean than began to lose ground, and Stansbury gradually drew away from him. Stansbury passed Putney Point with a length advantage, which he hadr increased to three by the time Tennyson's was passed, and this he maintained to the finish without the slightest exertion. Time — 18uiin 25aec. Negotiations have been entered into for a match between Sullivan and Stansbury, the present, champion.
