April 4 The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile 'Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cable message from their London office, ' dated 3rd inst. :— Tallow is dull of sale., Fine mutton is worth £28 per ton ; quotations nominal. Good beef is worth £25 15s per ton.' Frozen meats— Mutton market quiet. Canterbury mutton 18 worth 4jd, and Wellington mutton 4£d per lb. Beef market quiet. New Zealand beef, forequaters is worth 3Jd, and hindquaters, 1 4sd,per lb. Lamb market quiet. Prime ' New Zealand lambs are worth, per carcase, sjd per lb. ,' The total quantity of wool catalogued up to date is 29^200 bales, of, which 27,400 are sold. - The market continues firm, and- the opening prices aTe being maintained. Tallow — Medium mutton, 26s' 6d; beef, 255. .
