The Wanaka Ashore
(PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WivLtiNGTOX, This Day. Inf orraatiou has been received here that the U.S. S. Coi's Wanaka is ashore on the Bell Keef near New Plymouth The passengers were landed safely, aud the postal authorities expect to get the mails off this afternoon. No other particulars are to hadd. Later. The manager of .the local branch of the Union Co. has been informed by their New Plymouth agent that the Wanaka, which was on her way from New Plymouth to Wellington, ib expected to be floated off at noon. It is supposed that the Pinoke from bush fires rendered navigation along the coatst difficult.
