Ro 8. champion of America, and H Dunn, champion of Australia, came off to night, and was won by Dunn, who, though giving twty two s ton's, was in the finest condition. Five .styles were wrestled, Ross securing falls in Gkb<?oRoman an-1 Catch- as-Cateh-Can. Dunn falls in the American side hold. Collar nnd Elbow, and Cornish and Devonshire. An other match, m private, for double the stakes to is come off. Auckland. October 29. News has been received of the death in New South Wales of MrF. C. Cheesman. well known in athletic circles here. He went to New South Wales in August last. Nbw Plymouth, October 29. Old settlers are dying off here. William Hammond died on Monday, aged 90 years; and John Knight, aged 68, was found dead in bed yesterday. The latter was living by himself, so an inquest will be held on the body.
